Dr. Sharon Shappley’s journey in education began long before online platforms and digital classrooms became common. She started with Noah’s Ark, a preschool that earned top awards in Tennessee. This early chapter laid the foundation for her understanding of how children learn, how language develops, and how early education shapes future success.

At the same time, she began teaching tax software to a group of privately owned businesses in 2000. This dual exposure to education and business would later become a defining feature of her career. When a health issue forced her to sell the preschool, she did not step away from education. Instead, she expanded her reach.

Over the years, Dr. Shappley taught in public schools, private schools, homeschool associations, and individual homeschool settings. She also homeschooled a group of students, including two of her own. Each environment taught her something different about learners, motivation, and instructional gaps.

In 2013, she began teaching online and working with students with special needs. This marked a major turning point. Online education allowed her to reach learners who had been left behind by traditional systems. In 2018, she moved to Florida and expanded her online teaching further.

When COVID changed the global education landscape, Sharon’s English Classes experienced rapid growth. Families, students, and professionals sought structured, high-quality instruction that could adapt to their needs. With the help of a student learning English, ELIS was created under the Noah’s Ark umbrella. Sharon’s English Classes and ELIS later evolved into Sharon’s Classes when the company became an LLC in 2025.

Her early experiences with diverse learners shaped the philosophy behind the multi-division structure she would later build. What began as a teaching practice grew into a global learning organization rooted in experience, adaptability, and vision.

In parallel, Noah’s Ark Business Services continues to support organizations through specialized technological workshops.

It has since emerged as the company’s fastest-growing and most strategically important segment.

Today, time remains one of her biggest challenges. She works hard to ensure that every student receives focused attention while also managing a growing organization.

On a global level, Dr. Shappley observes a growing lack of seriousness toward education. In many developed countries, teachers face declining respect and unrealistic expectations. In other regions, language limitations such as heavy accents or limited vocabulary are often ignored as career barriers. Educator proficiency is another concern, as many teachers lack the fluency needed to truly elevate their students.
